Abstract

The increasing demand for sustainable development has accelerated research on engineering innovation and sustainable technology to address global challenges such as climate change, resource depletion, environmental pollution, and rising energy demand. This study aims to systematically review recent advances, emerging trends, engineering applications, implementation challenges, and future research opportunities in engineering innovation and sustainable technology. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted by analyzing scientific publications published in 2023 and indexed in Google Scholar. The reviewed literature covers various topics, including renewable energy, green manufacturing, sustainable materials, smart infrastructure, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things. The findings indicate that integrating advanced digital technologies with sustainable engineering practices has significantly improved energy efficiency, resource optimization, environmental performance, and operational reliability across multiple engineering sectors. However, challenges remain regarding high implementation costs, technological complexity, interoperability, cybersecurity, and policy support. Future research is expected to emphasize intelligent, data-driven, and environmentally responsible engineering solutions that promote resilient, efficient, and sustainable industrial and infrastructure development.
